Origin

Side Effects

The Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) has evaluated potassium aluminium silicate and established an Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) of 'not specified,' meaning that, based on available data, the additive poses no health hazard at levels necessary to achieve its intended function in food. However, excessive consumption of any mineral substance could potentially lead to adverse effects, although this is unlikely with E555 due to its low concentration in food products. Some individuals may experience mild gastrointestinal discomfort, but this is rare. There are no known significant allergic reactions associated with potassium aluminium silicate.
