Origin

Usage

Sodium aluminium silicate is primarily used as an anti-caking agent in food products. It prevents powders and granular materials from clumping together, ensuring free flow and ease of handling. It is commonly found in powdered foods such as salt, spices, milk powder, and instant coffee. The additive works by adsorbing moisture and oil, thereby reducing the stickiness of the particles. The typical usage levels are carefully controlled to ensure safety and efficacy. It is also used in non-food applications such as in the manufacturing of paper and rubber.

Side Effects

Sodium aluminium silicate is generally considered safe for consumption at the levels typically used in food.
